Karate events are coming back! The Canada Open Karate Championships will be held at the beautiful Richmond Olympic Oval on December 4-5th, 2021, near the Vancouver International Airport in British Columbia, Canada.
Masks will be required, and proof of vaccination for anyone age 12+ will be required to enter the venue, except for competitors under age 22 (see Information Bulletin for full details).
The Canada Open is one of the largest karate tournaments held in North America and it offers divisions for all levels and ages using World Karate Federation (WKF) rules.
There are no qualification requirements for the Canada Open. Simply read the tournament brochure and register online as a club team, or as an individual if your club is not organizing a team.

Who Can Participate?
- Anyone of any age and from any karate style can participate! Novice to elite divisions.
- No qualification requirements. Simply register and participate!

- Individual Kumite
- Kobudo (Weapons Kata)
- Para-Karate
- Skill Levels:
- Novice
- Intermediate
- Advanced
- Black Belt
- Elite
- NOTE: Everyone 22 years of age and older will need to show proof of vaccination in order to compete (or even enter the Richmond Olympic Oval building), and masks will be mandatory except while competing. Anyone 12 and older that is not competing (e.g., spectators, parents, coaches, officials, etc.) must show proof of vaccination to enter the building.
