This past weekend, a delegation of Canadian Karate Athletes participated in the World Youth League Tournament which took place in Merida, Mexico.
Not only was BC well represented as part of the Canadian team but both Ella Crowle and Talya Rabiner from BC earned silver medals. Congratulations to Ella who earned a silver medal in the U21 Female Kumite -68 kg division, and Talya with a silver medal in the U14 Female Kumite -52 kg. We are very proud of all the BC athlete’s achievements in this tournament.
It was such a great experience travelling to Mexico and getting to meet, watch and compete with so many amazing athletes and coaches from around the world. This was my first Youth League, and I am grateful to be able to stand on the podium and represent Canada and BC, and I am motivated to work harder.

Representing team Canada at my first WKF Youth League tournament was such an honour. It was such an amazing experience to be a part of, being able to meet and connect with other athletes in the world. A special thank you goes to the coaches that supported all of team Canada including myself, we couldn’t have done it without you!
