The 2018/19 competitive season is now upon us with some very exciting changes from Karate Canada. Nationals will now be a split event, Seniors Nationals held in Montreal at the end of January and Junior (12-U21) Nationals held early May in Calgary.
The 2018 BC Team broke Karate BC records for most Gold medals, most medals, highest aggregate & largest BC team to ever compete at the National Championships. This is a truly exciting time for Karate BC and all it’s dojos.
One significant change Karate Canada has implemented is that we are now allowed to take one more athlete per division to each of the Senior and Junior nationals, 4 kata athletes and 3 kumite athletes per division. This change will spark fire and opportunity for all Karate BC athletes to have even more opportunity to make the BC Team, and compete representing our Provincial flag.
Senior BC Team registration is now open, the hard deadline to register will close September 30, and Junior BC Team registration will open October 1st.

I look forward to working with all our leading karate instructors and inspirational athletes this coming season.
