Thanks in large part to a grant from the by the Columbia Basin Trust, the Beaver Valley/Rossland Chito-Ryu Karate Clubs will be hosting a karate tournament in Beaver Valley to promote traditional karate in the Kootenays. With the one-ring event and clinic they hope to increase the awareness of karate in Zone 1 and to increase participation in karate in the Kootenays.
“I humbly invite you to participate in our friendly event for great competition and to make new friends. We have some special guests invited for the clinic and should be a great first event of the season. We are paying stipends for regional or provincial ref’s and judges who pre-register to make our event run better so if you have some time, come out to the Kootenay’s. We’d love to see you!” invites Sensei Scott Hutcheson.
