Who Can Become A Member of Karate BC?
Karate BC membership is available to any resident of BC that is a member of one of our member karate clubs. Go to our Club Listing page HERE to see the full list of member clubs within Karate BC.
Why Be A Member?
Membership provides every member many benefits and supports the development of karate within British Columbia. It is through membership that Karate BC is able to continue the growth and development of karate from recreational fun, fitness and participation programs to World and Olympic levels of achievement. How Do I Become A Member, or Renew My Membership?
Club Memberships
Is your club interested in joining Karate BC? If so, please complete the online club application HERE . On the payment page, use the Promo Code “NEWCLUBAPPLKBC” to register your club application. At that time, you will only be charged a non-refundable $30 processing fee for the application.
In addition, please submit the following to our office (click HERE for office address):
- Copy of your most recent Dan certificate (minimum Shodan)
- Results (originals please) of a Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check. Click HERE for more information about the Criminal Records Check required by Karate BC.
Our Technical Committee will then review your application. Once accepted, the $30.00 will be deducted from your first year’s club registration fee ($175).
Once accepted, Chief Instructors are required to obtain NCCP Instruction Beginner certification. Please contact our Coaching Development Coordinator (coachdev@karatebc.org) to find out how to get this certification.
If your club is already a member of Karate BC, you will receive a customized email each year that will allow you to simply renew your club membership. If you don’t receive your customized link by September 1st, please contact the office.
Individual Memberships
Becoming a member of Karate BC is as easy as finding and joining your nearest Karate BC member club (see full list HERE ).
Returning members will receive an email with a personalized link that will allow them to renew their membership easily.
If you are a new member of a member club, and haven’t purchased your Karate BC membership yet, then talk to your club before clicking the following link to purchase your new Karate BC membership. Register your new membership HERE!
Login To Your Account
Clubs and individual members at any time after they have registered with Karate BC can login to their account and check or edit the information within their registration. To login to your existing account, click the link HERE.
Note that you will only have an account if you used your email address to create an account when registering yourself previously. Don’t know if you have an account? Contact the Karate BC office to find out!

Important Dates
- September 1: Start of the membership year. All clubs and their members are able to start registering for their membership with Karate BC. Existing club and individual members will receive a reminder email (with registration link) indicating that it is time to renew their membership.
- October 31: All renewing clubs and individual members must be registered in our system by this date.
New Members
Just joined a Karate BC member club? If you join after January 1st (of current membership year), your Karate BC membership fee will be prorated to an amount based on how many months are left in the membership year. However, please note that you are only ever a “new member” once. For each subsequent year you take out a Karate BC membership, you will be required to pay full year rates regardless of when you purchase your membership.
