National Referee Clinic – April 2, 2025

Karate Canada is seeking dedicated athletes to participate in a National Referees Clinic on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
This is an exclusive opportunity to sharpen your skills, gain real-ring experience, and support the next generation of top-level referees.
WHY PARTICIPATE?
- No cost to participants – you are helping our referee exam by doing a few matches with other elite athletes
- Get valuable competition-style experience
- Help shape the future of elite refereeing in Canada
- Take part in a high-performance training environment
ELIGIBILITY
- Athletes competing at Nationals as part of the BC Team are NOT eligible
- Open to athletes aged 14 and older who have competed in elite divisions in any Karate BC event in the past year (Canada Open, Selections, Provincials).
- Must have full protective gear required for elite divisions
EVENT DETAILS
- Location: Sheraton Hotel Richmond, Cedarbridge Room
- Number of Bouts: 3-4 bouts per athlete
- Bout Duration: 90 seconds each
- Match Rules: Junior/Adult contact rules apply
- Start Time: 1:00 pm (subject to athlete availability)
- Duration: Under 2 hours
COACH ROLE
We need a Lead Coach to:
- Recruit & supervise athletes
- Assign matchups (referees will be waiting for the next pair)
