How To Become An Assistant Coach
An Assistant Coach can coach a sport karate session in the dojo under supervision by a certified coach, has a valid Criminal Records Check (renewed every 3 years).
An Assistant Coach is a coach who:
- Has been designated by his/her dojo for this role.
- Has NCCP Competition-Introduction Trained status.
- Has signed off the Accreditation Agreement for Coaches.
- Has attended a compulsory coach briefing for accreditation before an event.
- Passed the formal Coaching Rules Test with the procedure as published by Karate BC.
- Has completed both the Making Headway in Sport module and the online evaluation for the Making Ethical Decisions module.

A Club Competition Coach can coach a sport karate session in a dojo without direct supervision, has a valid Criminal Records Check (renewed every 3 years).
A Club Competition Coach is a coach who:
- Has NCCP Competition-Introduction Certified status.
