How To Become An Assistant Dojo Instructor
Assistant Dojo Instructors can teach a karate training session only under the direct supervision of a certified karate instructor.
Assistant Dojo Instructors need to:
- Get a Criminal Records Check (CRC) every three years and submit it to the Karate BC office to stay current and to qualify for accreditation as Assistant Dojo Instructor
- Complete the online Making Headway In Sport module
- Complete the Making Ethical Decisions evaluation to become Instructor Beginner “In-training”
- Be a minimum 16 years of age and a brown belt
How To Become A Dojo Instructor
Dojo Instructors can teach a karate training session independently without needing direct supervision of a certified karate instructor.
To be an accredited, Dojo Instructors need to:
- Get a Criminal Records Check (CRC) every three years and submit it to the Karate BC office to stay current and to qualify for accreditation
- Complete the online Making Headway In Sport module
- Complete the Making Ethical Decisions evaluation
- Complete the Instructor Beginner workshop through Karate BC to become Instructor Beginner “Trained”
- Be a minimum 18 years of age and a brown belt
How To Become A Chief Dojo Instructor
Chief Dojo Instructors can teach a karate training session independently and have oversight for all activities of the dojo.
To be accredited, Chief Dojo Instructors need to:
- Get a Criminal Records Check (CRC) every three years and submit it to the Karate BC office to stay current to qualify for accreditation
- Complete the online Making Headway In Sport module
- Complete the Making Ethical Decisions evaluation
- Complete the Instructor Beginner workshop through Karate BC, complete the PORTFOLIO, and Apply for an EVALUATION to become Instructor Beginner “Certified”
- Be a minimum 18 years of age and a Black belt
