Well we tried.
Karate BC has been reviewing ways to increase competition and seminar opportunities for our membership over 30 years of age. We thought by joining with the Kamloops Games, July 23-25 this summer, we could provide such an opportunity. A kobudo seminar on Friday followed by a tournament that included kata, kobudo and kumite was organized.
We were approved for participation in the Games, we had the venue, support staff, volunteers, officials, equipment – all ready to go but we weren’t able to attract enough participants so we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel our participation in these Games.
We thank all of you who helped work on modified rules, set up the seminar, arranged for mat transportation, ring equipment, and found a hotel for all your advance work.
A special thank you to those officials who had committed that weekend to support this event.
Where to from here?
We will try again.
