Congratulations to Ethan Choi, who won Bronze in the U14 Male Kata division at this year’s Pan American Junior Karate Championships in Santiago, Chile. This is a significant achievement and contributed to Canada having its best result ever at the premier continental karate event for athletes under the age of 21.
Ethan has been training in karate since he was 5 years old. Like every high achieving athlete, Ethan’s success is a result of dedication, hard work, and persistence. Asked about his achievement, Ethan said,
“Making mistakes and enduring through failures from past experiences has shaped and pushed me to train harder. I would have never accomplished this level of success without the amazing guidance from my Sensei. With all the support I get from him, family, and friends, it encourages me to persevere through challenges along my journey.”
Ethan trains at the West River Karate Club with Sensei Kenny Lim.
Winning a medal at the PKF Junior Championships is a big accomplishment, and we look forward to great things from Ethan in the years to come.
