On March 6, 2025, at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Karate BC’s Mike Scales was honored with the Sport BC Presidents’ Award, recognizing his outstanding dedication, commitment, and passion for karate in our community.
The Sport BC Presidents’ Awards, established in 1994, celebrate volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, and contributions to their sport. This prestigious recognition is a testament to Mike’s decades of unwavering support for karate in British Columbia.
Karate BC President Donna Gardecki, Vice President Julie Zilber, and Elizabeth Scales were in attendance to celebrate Mike’s achievement, alongside esteemed alumni Mark Stacey and Norma Foster. Their presence underscored the deep appreciation and respect for Mike’s contributions to the sport.
