This message contains important information and deadlines for all KBC members who wish to become members of the BC Provincial Karate Team. Please read the entire message before registering.
BC Team Long List Application – Opens March 1, 2023; Closes April 12, 2023
All KBC members who wish to become members of the BC Provincial Karate Team must register for the Team long list by April 12, 2023. This registration is mandatory for all KBC members who wish to join the BC Team, including those who have received an automatic invitation from Karate Canada. (Please note: while long list application is mandatory, no payment is due at the time of long list registration.)
Team Registration Fee
KBC members who wish to join the BC Team must pay the Team Registration Fee. This includes those who have received an automatic invitation from Karate Canada. A link for payment of team fees will be sent to each person on the Team Long List by April 20. Team Registration is $200 per person*. Fees will be payable between April 20 and May 10, 2023.
*An opportunity to reduce your registration fees by up to $100
This year, KBC is offering you the opportunity to get a front row seat to see some of the world’s best karate competitors and to reduce your Team registration fees at the same time. You can reduce your team registration fees if you (or a family member) assist as a volunteer at the upcoming WKF Karate-1 Series A Tournament. The Series A Tournament will be held at the Richmond Olympic Oval on April 14, 15, and 16.
How to reduce your fees:
- Select the day(s) you will volunteer. When you register on the long list, you will be asked if you (or a family member) are going to volunteer at the Series A Tournament.
- Show up at the Richmond Oval in Richmond for the Series A Tournament on the day(s) you selected.
- Report to the Volunteer Coordinator so we know that you are there.
- Click on the link and pay your fee. After the Series A tournament, you will receive a link directing you to a fee payment page with the appropriate fee reduction:
- $50 reduction for volunteering on April 14
- $25 reduction for volunteering on April 15
- $25 reduction for volunteering on April 16
- (maximum reduction: $100/competitor)

- July 7 to 9 – Karate Canada National Championships (for those who qualify), Laval, Quebec
