International Women’s Day – March 8, 2025
This International Women’s Day, Karate BC proudly recognizes the incredible women who shape our sport. From young athletes stepping onto the tatami for the first time to experienced competitors, coaches, referees, volunteers, and leaders, their dedication strengthens karate and the communities around them.
We honour the commitment of women who balance household responsibilities, education, careers, and volunteering—while making karate a lifelong passion. Their perseverance, leadership, and love for the sport continue to inspire future generations.
Building on our long-standing support for women in karate, Karate BC is driving two key initiatives:
- Expanding Participation – Creating more opportunities for women and girls to train, compete, and excel in karate.
- Developing Leaders – Supporting women in coaching, officiating, and governance roles to strengthen the future of our sport.
Karate BC remains dedicated to fostering an inclusive and empowering environment where all athletes can thrive.
