Karate BC is delighted to announce that Geneviève Hassan is joining the BC Team as Team Manager in 2023. Geneviève will be working closely with Head Coach Toshi Uchiage and HPC Chair Julie Zilber to ensure that BC Team members are supported in getting to and performing their best at the Nationals.
Geneviève is an experienced team manager, with more than 14 years managing various sports teams. She has been a leader in her school community, holding various roles as Parent Advisory Council Chair, Fundraising Leader, and District PAC member. Throughout the years, Geneviève has demonstrated her organizational and systems implementation skills, and she is looking forward to helping with team logistics and planning. Geneviève has also been a karate mom for the last 15 years, involved in organizing local tournaments.
Julie Zilber says, “As the HPC Chair, I am looking forward to working with Geneviève. I am sure BC Team athletes, and their families, will benefit immensely from having someone with Geneviève’s organizational and leadership skills, ensuring that the process of getting to the Nationals goes without a hitch. And her ability to speak French will definitely come in handy in Laval!”
“I am excited to work with the BC Team Head Coach, helping the BC Team Athletes and assisting parents on how to navigate the karate world!” says Geneviève Hassan.
Congratulations Geneviève!
