Just a check-in with everyone to ensure you have the updated schedule and a few very important reminders:
- All competitors MUST present proof of citizenship to receive accreditation to compete. Karate Canada will not let you compete without this documentation, and they are very rigid.Athletes must bring their citizenship proof to the first Team Breakfast. We will take photos of your citizenship document to show at accreditation later that afternoon. Once finalized, we will provide the accreditation to the full team at the first Team Training.
- Accepted forms of citizenship are (legible photocopies will be accepted):
- Valid Canadian passport
- Canadian citizenship certificate
- Canadian citizenship card
- Birth certificate from a Canadian province or territory,
- Canadian Permanent Resident card
- Updated BC Team schedule
- Ensure you are packing all necessary equipment with you in your carry-on luggage. If your airline loses your checked baggage you will still be able to compete.
- Time Change – ensure you are adapting your sleep schedule for the local time in Halifax.
- Transport to/from Airport – reminder that all athletes are to plan their own travel arrangements to get to the hotel. Karate Canada’s bulletin (posted on their website) has some information on costs and options.
- Team Breakfasts – Located in the “Bluenose Ballroom” on the 8th floor of the Delta Halifax.
