Frequently Asked Questions
- I took an NCCP course with Karate BC so am I now certified?
- Answer: Not quite yet. You need to complete the online Making Ethical Decisions evaluation as well as complete the Making Headway in Sport module – both are in your locker. Next, you will need to register for an evaluation with Karate BC (HERE). Karate BC will pair you with a trained Karate BC evaluator who will take you through the rest of the process.
- Do I need to be certified at Instructor Beginner before taking the Competition Introduction Workshop?
- Answer: Not necessarily – as long as you have the required prerequisites, you can take any workshop available to you.
- How do I get an event registered for Professional Development points so karate instructors and coaches that are attending can log PD points in their locker?
- Answer: Contact the Coaching Development Coordinator at coachdev@karatebc.org
- How do I get PD points for an event?
- Answer: The event organizer will collect your NCCP number and the event will be input into your locker for you.
- How do I get an NCCP number?
- Answer: The number is assigned to you by the Coaching Association of Canada. It is your coaching identification number. If you have taken a coaching course in any sport, you will have an NCCP number. Click HERE to find your NCCP number. Still having troubles?
