Seminar Participant Instructions:
- Bring Karate gi, Officials Manual, and notebook.
- Online officiating exams MUST be completed successfully (passing grade required) prior to attempting certification (contact course conductor below for exam link).
- Kumite Examinations – Passing Grades:
- Provincial Referee 90%
- Provincial Judge 85%
- Regional Referee 85%
- Regional Judge 80%
- Kata Examinations – Passing Grades:
- Provincial Judge 90%
- Regional Judge 85%
- Kumite Examinations – Passing Grades:
- Come prepared to demonstrate kata from the list in the WKF rules
- Regional judge level – 1 from your style
- Provincial judge level – 1 from your style and 1 from another style
- Minimum Performance Standards for Practical Kata Qualification Assessment:
- Candidates are expected to perform kata simply to demonstrate understanding of the principles within from the perspective of judging. They are not expected to perform to competitive standards.
- Provincial Judge – one kata from own style and one from another recognized style
- Regional Judge – two kata from own style
- Candidates are expected to perform kata simply to demonstrate understanding of the principles within from the perspective of judging. They are not expected to perform to competitive standards.
- Minimum Performance Standards for Practical Kobudo Qualification Assessment
- Candidates must demonstrate one short weapon kata and one long weapon kata from the approved list
