Karate BC is pleased to be hosting an Officials Seminar on May 30, 2021, as an online course. This course is open to all Karate BC members.
This online course is a seminar as well as preparation for judging the Karate BC E-Tournament on June 19, 2021.

Seminar Only – Free for Karate BC Members, $40 for Non-Members
Testing – $20 for Karate BC Members
Minimum Requirements:
- Karate BC Membership
- Provincial Kobudo Judge B – 14 yrs of age, Kobudo practitioner
- Provincial Kobudo Judge C – 3 rd Kyu, 14 yrs of age, must have at least Provincial
Judge C Certification (Karate)

Seminar Participant Instructions:
- A Zoom online conference link will be sent to registered participants.
- Online officiating exams MUST be completed successfully (passing grade required) prior to attempting certification (contact course conductor for exam link).
- Kata Examinations – Passing Grades:
- Kobudo Judge B 85%
- Kobudo Judge C 80%
- Minimum Performance Standards for Practical Kata Qualification Assessment:
- Candidates are expected to perform kata simply to demonstrate understanding of the principles within from the perspective of judging. They are not required to perform to competitive standards.
- Provincial Kobudo Judge B – 1 long weapon and 1 short weapon
- Candidates are expected to perform kata simply to demonstrate understanding of the principles within from the perspective of judging. They are not required to perform to competitive standards.
- Please make sure you have enough space if you need to demonstrate kata for the level you are challenging.
