Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence
This year marked Karate BC’s 50th anniversary—a significant milestone that reflects our rich history and the vibrant community we’ve built together. Our anniversary celebrations were a testament to the enduring spirit and camaraderie that define our organization.
Highlights of 2024
- BC Winter Games in Quesnel: Our young athletes showcased exceptional talent and resilience, embodying the true spirit of karate. Their performances were a source of pride and inspiration for us all.
- Provincial Championships: Held at the Richmond Olympic Oval, these championships provided a platform for athletes of all ages to demonstrate their skills. The event’s success was amplified by live streaming, allowing fans across the region to engage with the competition.
- National Championships in Laval, Quebec: Our athletes achieved an impressive 61 podium finishes, including 14 gold medals, underscoring the dedication and talent within our community.
- Canada Open Karate Championships: We recently hosted the seventh edition of this prestigious event at the Richmond Olympic Oval, attracting participants from around the globe. The tournament was a resounding success, showcasing the high caliber of karate talent and the organizational excellence of Karate BC.
Looking Ahead
We are excited to be hosting the 2025 Karate Canada National Championships at the Richmond Olympic Oval from April 3-6, 2025. This event represents a defining moment in our history, and we are committed to delivering an exceptional experience that reflects the very best of our sport.

Our achievements are a collective triumph. The dedication of our board members, staff, coaches, athletes, volunteers, and club representatives across the province has been instrumental in our success. From exceptional organizational support and seamless daily operations to the delivery of outstanding events and the preparation of athletes for success, every effort has contributed to the strength and growth of Karate BC.
