SANTIAGO, Chile – Claudia Laos-Loo (Surrey, B.C.) took home a Bronze medal for Team Canada at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games this past weekend in the Women’s Individual Kata event.
“I wanted to keep the composure, but I just felt really good. No matter the outcome, I knew I was going to be super happy with the results. I’m so happy with the bronze medal and I was so happy my parents were here to watch,” said Laos-Loo after winning the Bronze medal.
The 26-year-old B.C. athlete qualified for the Bronze medal match after coming out of the elimination round with 1 win and 2 losses. She faced off against Isidora Gallo of Chile in the Bronze medal match where she was victorious with a score of 40.10 to 39.10.
“I just can’t stop thinking about everyone who helped me get me to this point. I don’t do this alone. It is a whole team with me, so this medal is for everybody here,” added Laos-Loo.
