Karate BC, in partnership with Nechako Karate Club, will host a series of high performance and introductory karate training sessions with Canadian Olympian Daniel Gaysinsky in Quesnel, British Columbia.
Gaysinsky, from Vaughan, Ontario, qualified for karate’s Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games in the Men’s +75 kg category, where he finished in the Top 7. He is also a Silver Medallist at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games in the Male -84 kg category.

Transportation:
- Participants from outside the Quesnel area can fly into Prince George Airport (YXS) on the evening of Friday, November 17, and fly out from Prince George on the evening of Sunday, November 19.
- WestJet and Air Canada operate regular flights out of Prince George Airport.
- The seminar will be held at Barlow Creek Elementary School in Quesnel, which is approximately an hour and 15 minute drive from Prince George (expect winter driving conditions).

Schedule:
A total of five sessions will be offered, including those geared towards participants looking to try sport karate for the first time, as well as for athletes who are currently competing on the Provincial or National Team.
The following sessions will be offered:
- Session 1 – Saturday, November 18 – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. – Elite Kumite Seminar – Open to Provincial Team Level Athletes – Ages 12 & Up
- Session 2 – Saturday, November 18 – 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Introduction to Sport Karate – All Ages
- Session 3 – Saturday, November 18 – 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Elite Kumite Seminar – Open to Provincial Team Level Athletes – Ages 12 & Up
- Session 4 – Sunday, November 19 – 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Elite Kumite Seminar – Open to Provincial Team Level Athletes – Ages 12 & Up
- Session 5 – Sunday, November 19 – 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. – Introduction to Sport Karate – All Ages
