Applications are now being accepted for the Vince Redfern Memorial Scholarships, in honour of a long-time first aid volunteer who donated countless hours to the care of injured competitors at karate tournaments.
Two awards of $500.00 each are presented yearly to one male and one female karate athlete attending a post-secondary institute.
Criteria for Selection
Applicants must:

- be a member in good standing of Karate BC
- be attending a University, College, or Technical Institute, on a full-time basis
- have a high academic standing
- have demonstrated leadership abilities
- have performed well at Karate BC Tournaments
Interested candidates should submit a letter of application, outlining their academic and athletic achievements over the past year, along with two letters of reference, to the Awards Committee of Karate BC.
Karate BC’s Awards Committee will consider all applications and the successful recipients will be announced shortly after the deadline.
